gal: De bloemknop is gezwollen,sterk behaard, en blijft gesloten. Tegelijkertijd is de kelk vergroot en de bloemsteel verkort, waardoor de gal weinig opvalt. In de gal talrijke oranjegele tot rode larven, die zich later in de grond verpoppen.

gall: The flower bud is swollen, strongly hairy, and does not open. At the same time the calyce is enlarged and the peduncle shortened, effectively making the gall inconspicuous. In the gall numerous orange-yellow to red larve, that eventually pupate in the soil.
