gal door telia aangetaste struiken vormen karakteristieke heksenbezems. Aangetaste takken dragen over de hele lengte 2-4 mm lange en nog geen mm brede oranje telia. De sporen meten 12-18 x 50-80 µm; de steel is extreem lang.

gall shrubs, infected by telia of this species develop charateristic witches' brooms. Infected branches carry oer their entire length orange, 2-5 mm long and less than a mm wide telia. The spores measure 12-18 x 50-80 µm; the pedicel is extremely long.
