gal: Spermogonia oranje. Aecia beiderzijdig, oranje, zonder peridium; geen paraphysen. Uredinia meestal onderzijdig, geel, met veel, knotsvormige, paraphysen; de diameter van de kop is 14-26 µm. Telia beiderzijdig, subepidermaal, donkerbruin; alleen bij E. peplus treden ze regelmatig op.

gall: Spermogonia orange. Aecia amphigenous, orange, without a peridium; no paraphyses. Most uredinia hypophyllous, yellow, with many, clavate, paraphyses; the diameter of the head is 14-26 µm. Telia amphigenous, subepidermal, dark brown; they are but rarely forned, except in E. peplus.
