Aecia beiderzijdig, ook op de stengels, op purperen plekken maar zonder zwelling te veroorzaken; peridium wit, sporen orange, vrijwel glad. Uredinia beiderzijdig, poederig, kastanjebruin; sporen fijn bestekeld, met twee equatoriale poren. Telia als de uredinia, maar zwartbruin; sporen tweecellig, bruin, bijna bolrond, fijnbestekeld; pore van de topcel apicaal, die van de onderste halverwege aanhechting en septum; pedicel short, deciduous. hyalien.

gall: spermogonia epiphyllous, in small groep, honey-coloured. Aecia amphigenous, also on the stems, on purple, but not swollen, spots; peridium white, spores orange, practically smooth. Uredinia amphigenous, pulverulent, chestnut coloured; pores finely spinulose, with two equatorial pores. Telia like the uredinia, but blackish brown; spores two-celled, brown, ± rotund, finely spinulose; pore of top cel apical, the one of the basal cell halfway base and septum; pedicel short, deciduous, hyaline.
