gal: Geen waardwisseling. Spermogonia, aecia, uredinia en telia beiderzijdig. Aecua bekervormig. Uredinia bruin. Urediniosporen met 4-5 verspreide poren. Telia zwart, compact, vooral op de stengel; sporen tweecellig, glad, steel gelig, blijvend, tot driemaal de lengte van de spore.

gall: No host plant alternation. Spermogonia, aecia, uredinia, and telia amphigenous. Aecia cupulate. Uredinia brown; spores with 4-5 dispersed pores. Telia black, compact, mainly on the stems; spores two-celled, smooth; pedicel persistent, yellowish, up to 3 x the length of the spore.
