Arnoldiola quercus larvae

gall

Some authors, including Roskam and Skuhravaá, consider this species an autonomous gall causer, living in buds of terminal shoorts. However, most state that it is an inquiline of Contarinia quercina. A problem then is that A. quercus is, but C. quercina is not, known from the Netherlands.

Skuhravá, Skuhravý & Jørgensen (2006a) describe the larvae as “whitish”, but Roskam described the colour as light red.

Fagaceae, monophagous
