Hybolasoptera fasciata on Agrostis spec.

larva in opened gall, after removal of the leaf sheath


Above a node in the stem a shallow oval cavity is found, covered by the blackish epidermis. The stem is somewhat thickened here, the pith is black and granular. In the cavity one yellow to red larva.

Agrostis capillaris; Avena sativa; Avenella flexuosa; Calamagrostis canescens; Cynosurus cristatus; Dactylis glomerata; Elymus caninus; Elytrigia repens; Festuca rubra; Holcus mollis; Phleum pratense; Poa pratensis; Secale cereale; Triticum aestivum, durum.

The occurrence of Avena and Phleum is not fully certain.
