Dasineura aceris (Shimer, 1868)
Acer saccharinum, Polen, Narew © Sébastien Carbonelle
part of the leaf irregularly folded upwards, margin deflected or rolled; often reddened; veins there swollen.
Sapindaceae, narrowly monophagous
originally a North American species. The species seems closely relateed with the European D. irregularis, and possibly the two even are conspecific. For a separate status of the two pleads the fact that in irregularis the entire lamina becomes galled, while in aceris the galling usually is restricted to a single leaf segment (Sébastien Carbonelle, in litt.)
