Hemiptera, Sternorhyncha, Triozidae

on Bupleurum

gall

leaf segments rolled in upwards; inside a flattened, along its margins silvery fringed, larva. In all probability, this description applies to both species mentioned above.

hostplants

Bupleurum falcatum.

synonyms

notes

Buhr described T. bupleuri on the base of a planned, but never actually published, paper by W. Wagner, Inadvertantly, this resulted in the description of a new species. Buhr’s description is valid from a nomenclatural point (he spent a few words on the aspect of the larva), but insufficient for a recognition of the species involved.
