gall

Culm above the second or third node with one or more chambers, each containing a single larve. The culm locally is weakly swollen. Plant and inflorescence clearly stunted; infested are recognisable by the thick and shortened stem, causing the inflorescence not to rise above the grass vegetation. The larva hibernates in the gall and pupates in the spring.

hostplants

Poaceae, monophagous

Calamagrostis arundinacea, canescens, epigeios.

synonyms

Harmolita, Isthmosoma, calamagrostidis.
