Cosmopterix turbidella mine

Forsskaolea angustifolia, La Gomera; from Klimesch (1983a)

Cosmopterix turbidella mines

Parietaria debilis; from Hering (1927a)

mine

The mine begins as a corridor that runs from the midrib in the direction of the leaf margin, following a lateral vein. Next the corridor widens into an irregular blotch. Most frass is ejected through a hole in the first section of the mine. Much frass grains are captured by spinning under the leaf. The larva regularly makes a new mine.

hostplants

Forsskaolea angustifolia; Gesnouinia arborea; Parietaria debilis, officinalis.
