larva

mine

According to Hering (1957a) the young larva lives as a leaf-miner, later as a stem miner. Bland ao (2002a) write that the young larve “possibly” is a leaf-miner, while the older larva lives among spun shoots. Huemer & Karsholt (2010a) do not mention mining at all in this species.

hostplants

Caryophyllaceae, oligofaag

Cerastium arvense; Dianthus; Minuartia; Petrorhagia prolifera, saxifraga; Silene nutans, suecica, viscaria, vulgaris, uniflora; Spergularia rubra; Stellaria media.

In Britain found on Silene uniflora only. Huemer & Karsholt (2010a) doubt the occurence on Dianthus and Minuartia.

notes

The long list of hostplants and the uncertainty about the biology sheds doubt on the unequivocality of the interpretation of this species.
