thin, greyish-white film that in autumn covers the upperside of young and old leaves. At the underside numerous brownish-black cleistothia. They bear in their lower part a large number of horizontally extending stiff, wavy appendages, ending in a small hook; distally there is number a of short, stiff appendages with a rough surface. Conidia solitary, without fibrosin bodies, elliptic, opaque.
