underside of the leaves with a greyish purple fungal down consisting of vertical conidiophores that apically several times are dichotomously branching, each branch ending upon an elliptic conidium.

hostplants

Amaranthaceae, narrowly monophagous

Chenopodium polyspermum.

The study by Choi, Denchev & Shin has demonstrated that the Peronospora of Ch. polyspermum forms a monophyletic group. However, Klenke & Scholler bring under this name also the Peronospora of Chenopodium murale species, and even the one of Dysphania ambrosioides.
