Silene vulgaris; from Klimesch (1938b): three galls with exit openings

gall

conspicuous fusiform swelling of an internode. All frass is collected in the top and floor of the gall, covered by spinning. In the spacious gall chamber a greyish green caterpillar with a brownish black head and pronotum; pupation in the gall.
