At he start of the mine a small lower-surface hole, lined with silk, through which frass is ejected. The older larva lives free in a spinning under the leaf or, even later, in a leaf that is spun upwards into a pod.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"head-hostplant\">host plants<\/h3>\n<p>Asteraceae, monophagous<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"latinnames\"> <a href=\"https:\/\/bladmineerders.nl\/serratula\">Serratula<\/a> tinctoria.<\/p>\n<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"head-phenology\">phenology<\/h3>\n<p>Larvae late May, June (Harper ao, 2002a).<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"head-distribution\">BENELUX<\/h3>\n<p>Not known from the Benelux countries (Fauna Europaea, 2009).<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"head-distribution\">distribution within Europe<\/h3>\n<p>Britain, Central Russia (Fauna Europaea, 2009).<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"head-larva\">larva<\/h3>\n<p>The young larva has a black head and prothoracic plate, a pale green  with concolorous anal plate and darker dorsal line.
