The mined leaves contain much dense, black frass. After the hibernation the larve lives as a stem borer. Infested plant parts turn pale and wilt.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"head-hostplant\">host plants<\/h3>\n<p>Primulaceae, monophagous<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"latinnames\"><a href=\"https:\/\/bladmineerders.nl\/glaux\">Glaux<\/a> maritima.<\/p>\n<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"head-phenology\">phenology<\/h3>\n<p>Larvae from September till April.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"head-distribution\">BENELUX<\/h3>\n<p>BE recorded (Phegea, 2011).<\/p>\n<p>NE recorded (Kuchlein &#038; de Vos, 1999a; Microlepidoptera.nl, 2011).<\/p>\n<p>LUX not recorded (Fauna Europaea, 2011).<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"head-distribution\">distribution within Europe<\/h3>\n<p>From Fennoscandia and North Russia to Belgium and Germany, and from Britain to South Russia (Fauna Europaea, 2011).<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"head-larva\">larva<\/h3>\n<p>Body crimson reddish, with minute black pinacula; head ochreous-yellow; prothoracic plate dark brown (Bland ao).<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"head-synonym\">synonyms<\/h3>\n<p><em>Aristotelia, Monochroa, Xystophora gudmanni<\/em> Larsen, 1927 (?)<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"head-remark\">notes<\/h3>\n<p>The synonymy is probable (on the basis of the descriptions of the biology), but I have not found a definite confirmation in the literature.
