Minute mine, up to 3 mm, in the leaf margin. The larva soon leaves the mine and starts consuming the leaf from the basis on. The leaf, and later leaves that are consumed as well, is wrapped in a mixture of silk and plant hairs, forming a yellow-white felty mass of up to 2 cm.
