yellowish white hypophyllous erineum consisting of stiff cylindrical hairs. Erinea distributed freely on the leaf disk, less often in the vein axils; at the corresponding upperside the leaf is bulging.
Nalepa himself describes the gall as a “red, crumbly erineum on the upperside of the leaf”.
