hostplants

Rosaceae, monophagous

Sorbus aria, aucuparia, domestica, ? torminalis.

synonyms

Phytoptus pyri var. arianus.

note

Because of the shape of the leaf, Sorbus mougeotii belongs to the subgenus aria. Therefore the galls on S. mougeotii have been identified as E. arianus, which is known from S. aria. It should be added that that taxonomy of the gall mites that cause this type of galls on the genus Sorbus is not yet fully stabilised.
