synonyms
Aceria lateannulata (Schulze, 1918); Eriophyes gallarumtiliae (Turpin); E. lateannulatus; E. rudis Nalepa, 1918; E. tomentosae Nalepa, 1918; Phytoptus tiliae.
Until the revision by Soika & Kozak it was assumed that E. lateannulatus caused the well known nail galls on Tilia cordata, while E. tiliae caused the generally longer and narrower nails on Tilia vulgaris. Also E. tomentosae, specialised on Tilia tomentosa, has gone.
