Galium aparine, Castricum. The leaf is folded upwards along the midrib, the upperside is densely covered with hairs, between which the mites live. One half of the leaf has been removed here.

Redfern & Shirley (2011a) have the impression that all British material attributed to C. gallii in fact belongs to C. rouhollahi, a species described in 1999 that causes galling identical to those of galii.
