host plants

Asteraceae, monophagous (?)

Centaurea alba, arenaria, aspera, calcitrapa, cineraria, decipiens, diffusa, jacea & subsp. angustifolia + gaudinii, nigrescens, phrygia, scabiosa & subsp. sadleriana, solstitialis, stoebe & subsp. australis.

Houard additionally lists Hirtellina fruticosa and Psephellus dealbatus, two species that in his time were included in Centaurea.
Redfern & Shirley mention galls, found on Serratula tinctoria, that perhaps belong to this species too.
Cogolludo’s (1921a) reference to Staehelina dubia is not based on an identification of the mite, and is therefore uncertain.

synonyms

Eriophyes centaureae.
