Plant Parasites of Europe

leafminers, galls and fungi

Bagous limosus

Bagous limosus (Gyllenhal, 1827)

on Potamogeton

parasite

It is assumed that the larvae bore in the stems and petioles, perhaps even mine in the fleshy leaves.

host plants

Potamogetonaceae, monophagous

Potamogeton crispus, lucens, natans.

In the laboratory the adults also fed on Hydrocharis morsus-ranae; Myriophyllum, but it is unlikely that these are larval host plants.
