Biology of the larvae unknown. Rheinheimer & Hassler suppose that that larvae bore in the stem and that also pupation takes place there.

Myriophyllum verticillatum.

In captivity the beetles also fed on Ceratophyllum demersum, but in nature they were never found associated with horn-wort.
