Orchestes subfasciatus

Orchestes subfasciatus Gyllenhal, 1835


Slender gallery that closely follows the leaf margin. Only towards the end the gallery enters the leaf centre; here a small blotch is made. The larva the makes an excision in the blotch, in which it drops to the ground for pupation. The corridor is loosely filled with frass over its entire width.

Not known from the Benelux countries (Fauna Europaea, 2011).
