From Germany to Sardinia and Sicily, and from France to Austria; but also Moldova and large parts of Russia (Fauna Europaea, 2010).

Mentioned by Hering, 1936b) from Spain, mining on Centaurea, but he does not mention the species in his 1957 book. (According to the Fauna Europaea, 2010, the species does not occur in Spain.)
