Pissodes piniphilus (Herbst, 1797)

Larvae make long sinuous galleries in the cambium of branches in the canopy of healthy trees. Pupation in pupal chamber in the wood, that is lined with a thick layer of wood chips. Because often the cambium is almost completely ringed, branches usually are killed.
