Trachys fragariae Brisout de Barneville, 1874

Coleoptera, Buprestidae

mine

Upper-surface brownish primary blotch, without a preceding corridor. Frass in thread fragments. On top of the oviposition site, mostly at the leaf marignj, a shining black drop of black secretion. Pupation in the mine (Hering, 1957a).

hostplants

Rosaceae, oligophagous

Anserina reptans; Fragaria vesca, viridis; Potentilla argentea, reptans.

F. viridis is the main hostplant (Hering, 1957a).

phenology

Larvae in July-August (Hering, 1957a).

BENELUX

BE not recorded (Fauna Europaea, 2007).

NE not in the Netherlands, although it occurs in nearby Germany (Brechtel & Kostenbader, 2002a). However, Bilý (2002a), Niehuis (2004a) and the Fauna Europaea (2007) do mention the species as Dutch. Given the ecology of the miner this does not seem very probable.

LUX not recorded (Fauna Europaea, 2007).

distribution within Europe

South of the line France, Germany, Ukraine (Fauna Europaea, 2007).

larva

Schaer (1949a), Bilý (1993a, 1994a), Brechtel & Kostenbader (2002a) en Niehuis (20004a).

Schaer (1949a), Bilý (1993a, 1994a), Brechtel & Kostenbader (2002a) en Niehuis (20004a).
