smooth one-sided swelling of a current-year shoot. Between bark and wood lies a solitary maggot with a black cephalic skeleton, or a puparium. Adults emerge in spring.

Reference to Cytisus are certainly incorrect, those to Salix probably as well (Spooner & Bowdrey, 2012a).
