Lower-surface gallery that begins near the midrib, in the upper third of the leaf. Frass in dispersed grains at either sides of the gallery. Pupation in the mine, in a lower-surface pupal chamber.
A fly emerged from its puparium in late June.
Not known from the Benelux countries (Fauna Europaea, 2012).

Pale orange, shining, segmentation indistinct, length 2 mm. Anterior spiraculum black, on long stalk. Posterior spiraculum long, yellowish brown with 11 marginal papillae.
