Originally a South American species, now established in the wild in the southern states of the United States. By quarantine measures on tries to prevent introduction of this pest in Europe (Darvas & Papp, 2000a).
Rear spiraculum with 3 papillae (Spencer, 1973b).
Strikingly reddish (Spencer, 1973b).
Agromyza guaranitica Brèthes.
Adult flies are characteristic by having their halters white with a black tip.
