Upper-surface, locally interparenchymatous, gallery that changes its course a few times but enventually descends, often down to the leaf sheath. Frass deposited in one single lump. Puparium formed within the mine.

larva
Anterior spiraculum with 20-20 papillae; posterior one with three papillae that are strongly elongated and curved clawlike.

Somewhat flattened, yellowish to reddish brown, 2.5 – 3.5 mm long; rear spiracula about as high as their mutual distance.
