Large white mine, generally in the distal half of the leaf; puparium in the mine.
Larvae from June till October, in two generations.
Not known from the Benelux countries (Fauna Europaea, 2010).

Undistinguishable from those of Cerodontha pygmaea.
Possibly zoerneri is but a junior synonym of C. pygmaea (Meigen, 1830).
