Liriomyza often are yellow, often their rear spiraculum has 3, relatively large, papillae, often their frass is in strings, and the anterior tooth of the mandible tends to be larger than the proximal one. Each of these characters may occur in other genera of Agromyzidae, but in combination they give a fair first suggestion.
