The mine begins as a fine, quite shallow gallery running upwards next to the midrib. Once near the leaf tip the gallery widens into a blotch that is enlarged in the direction of the leaf base. In the blotch the primary feeding lines are conspicuous. Frass in the gallery as fine grains, in the blotch irregular dispersed. Pupation external.
