Liriomyza violicaulis Hering, 1962
Not only the leaf disk is mined, but also the petiole and the rind of the underground stem. Even the small stipules are visited, and can be mined out completely. Mines in the leaves either upper- or lower-surface. Frass in short thread fragments, now and then in isolated grains.
Viola arvensis, tricolor.
Larvae in early July and mid September (Hering, 1962a).
Not known from the Benelux countries (Fauna Europaea, 2008).
