Phytobia aucupariae (Kangas, 1949)

oviposition around end of June; the larva then tunnels a gallery in the cambium of a one-year old shoot, and hibernates in its second instar within the gallery. In May of the following yer the larva leaves the gallery, and pupates in the soil.
