Phytomyza buhriana

Ranunculus acris, Baarschot (dead larva): cephalic skeleton, rear end

front and rear spiraculum
mandibles
Note the lack of a frontal appendage (which is present in Ph. ranunculi) and especially the very weakkly sclerotised lower rear arm of the cephalic skeleton. This differentiates the larva from that of Ph. ranunculivora (as described by de Meijere, 1938a).
