At the end of the stem is a bunch of weakly hairy, disfigured leaves, the whole for the greatest part wrapped in the lower leaf. Pupation in the ground. Larva white; spatula yellowish brown, lobes elongated-triangular, separated under a sharp angle (Kieffer).
