Strong and densely hairy disk with a diameter of c. 6 mm at the underside of the leaf; at the upperside the gall forms a small ring with in its centre al hole that opens into the gall chamber, where a single larva lives. Often several galls on a leaf. Young galls, where the hairs are proportionally much longer, look like fluffy dots. Univoltine; larvae hibernate in the soil and pupate in spring.
