Two types of galls. The flower buds and adjacent bracts may be galled, the flowers remaining closed. Also the topmost two pairs of leaves may enclose a gall chamber; this gall is rotund, c. 5 mm long, not excessively hairy. The inner wall of the gall chambers without mycelium. Larva solitary, reddish yellow, pupates in the ground. Probably two generations.
