larva in opened gall, after removal of the leaf sheath

Above a node in the stem a shallow oval cavity is found, covered by the blackish epidermis. The stem is somewhat thickened here, the pith is black and granular. In the cavity one yellow to red larva.

The occurrence of Avena and Phleum is not fully certain.

larva, pupa

Even the full grown larva has no spatula. Pupa witout frontal spines (Rübsaamen, 1895a).
