The flower buds are enlarged, ultimately drying. Inside 2-3 pale yellow, ± 2.5 mm long larvae that upon maturity escape through an opening in the gall wall and pupate in the soil. Multivoltine, hibernation probably in the soil.

Described from Egypt, but may possibly occur as well on the northern coast of the Mediterranean.
