the larvae develop in inte flower heads, without causing galling. Oviposition between the florets and the involucral bracts. In an capitulum 1-4 larvae, that develop at the expense of the young achenes. When a capitulum contains several larvae, no viable achenes are left. Pupation in the soil.
the species was discovered in Turkey; inspection elsewhere resulted in findings in southern France, Austria, Bulgaria and Greece.
