gall

Acutely conical gall, that with its narrow smooth top extends c. 2 mm above the upperside of the leaf. The base, that protrudes for 1 mm from the underside, is disk-shaped and covered with a fine yellow felt. At maturity of the gall this base falls off. Often many galls on a leaf. The solitary larva is orange red. Univoltine; pupation in the soil.
