The flower buds are somewhat malformed, mostly largely closed. They contain some red larvae. Pupation in the soil.

Aquilegia alpina, vulgaris.


Described by Kieffer (1909a). The spatula is yellow; lobes obtuse, somewhat longer than broad, separated by an obtuse incision.
