The leaf underside with a shallow, circular depression of c. 5 mm across. In the centre lies a single hyaline larva. At the upperside the leaf is weakly raised, and the gall is encircled by a yellow zone. Often several galls in a leaf. Univoltine, hibernation in the ground.
