Gall 6-14 mm, slender and acute, consisting of two whorls of needles. The needles of the outer whorl not curved back at their tip. Larva solitary, orange; one generation per year; pupation internal.

The reference by Gagné (2010a), Gagné & Jaschhof (2014a) to J. sabina almost certainly is a mistake.
