Unilocular leaf bud gall. Usually a lateral bud, up to 8 mm enlarged, not abnormally hairy, usually fusiform, remaining closed. Larva solitary, red or orange. Univoltine, pupation inside the gall; the adult leaves the gall by an opening at its base.
